By The Devil Wears Marc Jacobs

Since it is Monday, aka "The Hills" night, I decided to do a tribute to Lauren Conrad, the girl next door with the incredible glow about her, probably provided by Meet Mark, face shimmer in "Champagne Glow".  Not only is Lauren a makeup representative for a booming company, a girl guys want to date, and girls want to shop with, she is also a budding designer. If you have been watching "the Hills" since its start about three years ago you know Lauren goes to the FIDM school in Los Angeles, where she studies Fashion design, flirts shamelessly with attractive bad boys (Brody Jenner, no name Baseball player), and is still NOT friends with Heidi (sad, I actually think they could work it out, LC is supposed to be the sweet one, no?) Lauren's designer collection surfaced in winter of '07 but, its her latest fall '08 designs that seem to have the best outcome, think Parisian chic, meets the sophistication of Audrey Hepburn. Some of my favorite pieces include a batwing dress00081987063965_600in a gorgeous array of colors; I enjoy the gold shimmery bronze-ness of this "Amour" color above. It sort of evokes disco queen chic, circa the Studio 54 era, and the plunging v-neck is what really attracted me to this piece, very sexy. One piece that would be a great transitional item from summer into fall, for a breezier city like SF, would be the Jacqueline tunic, in a relaxed jersey fabric.00082006063909_600This piece is very sexy meets sweet, I love anything that shows off my shoulders, and this shirt doesn't give a whole lot away, if you're having a "fat" day! One item that is not under Lauren's "La Vie en Rose" collection is fun cocktail dress shown at her runway show earlier this year at the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in Los AngelesBow_arrow2_2 . I kinda love the way the short sleeves of the dress go so well with the driving gloves, its a look I might rock come holiday party season, especially since the sequins on the dress are so adequate for holiday parties, as they have been for the past few seasons!

Lauren's designs have been criticized by some as being too simple, but I think we can all agree her understated California glamour has a proven track record, girls around the world covet her looks, her clothes, and the Lauren Conrad Collection continues to sellout in stores nationwide.

I am looking forward to seeing what Lauren can do in the couture ring; she is set to design a gown to be worn by a trophy girl at this year's Emmy Awards.  We can see Lauren's results on September 21, 2008, on ABC. I can't wait!

You know what? I LOVE these designs!
They are simple but that's what I love!
Seema and I saw Lauren at the last Project Show in Vegas.
She is prettier in person than she is in print.
I have to say I have never watched The Hills.
