Are you a Recessionista?

By the Devil Wears Marc Jacobs

Recessionista: a modern sort of girl who is trying to survive the credit crunch the best she can, while maintaining her stylishness.

We have all been hit hard by the terrible economic spiral downward that has befallen each and everyone of us. As someone who could be considered a "shopaholic", I feel your pain. I have put myself on a strict no spend budget (I haven't purchased anything in two weeks).

It is difficult as modern women to expand our fabulous wardrobe, and upkeep those weekly mani's and pedi's, all while buying the first round of drinks in this economic crisis!  But this isn't CNN, so lets get to the fun stuff.

Browsing buttery leather vests, and flouncy ruffled skirts I would never fathom to purchase until our economy get better, it hit me, I can buy stuff, but it has to be the right price! And Bare Accessories is the right price, at $75 and under everything on the site is affordable to all.

Fringe is big for fall, thanks to Minnetonka. Appearing everywhere from boots to booties, and bags to vests, this look brings you from no-chic to boho-chic in no time! This Melie Bianco Fringe Hobo Fringe_black_b has impeccable detail. It remind's me of a Michael Kors hobo I saw recently, at four times the price. At $68.50 this stunner is affordable and on trend!

Handbags make or break an outfit (as with shoes), so its only natural that I am obsessing over not one, but two bags. The Convertible Clutch by Melie Bianco, also known as a "three-way", because it can be worn threeCc_model different ways, is stylish and versatile. It can be worn from day into evening, without spending the price on three different bags!

Layering is imperative all year, but in the fall it seems to be done even more. When I saw this Jersey T Dress at the reasonable price of $19.50, how could I pass it up? Tdress_model It is a simple sheath, with a classic vibe that can be belted, or paired with leggings. It can be worn year round with the right accessories.

I have been in search of a simple gold necklace to wear everyday, and not break the bank. I found it here for $14.50, the Oval Pendant Necklace Oval_link_model1 is gold plated and on sale. I would wear this by itself or layered upon more chains.

Speaking of jewelery, I couldn't finish this post without mentioning a chunky ring, and fantastic watch I found. The Brown Agate Cocktail Ring is perfect if you don't want to commit to a solid gold piece. Brown_rectang_ms And the Boyfriend Watch is a must this season, but can get expensive. Watch_b  My version is a cool $29, it won't cost your left arm and when your tired of this trend, it won't be as hard to retire it!

The best part of this site is it has free shipping on any and all purchases!

I, myself, have always considered myself a Frugalista, therefor I am really not having to make much adjustment during this economic funk. Outside of the occasional splurges, Target and Old Navy are the main outlets for my basics while online bargain shopping tends to cover the rest.

I know what you mean about the economic downturn. I've been on a "no shopping" mood and resisting buying new things as well. It's so hard, especially since I live in Downtown San Francisco where there's shopping everywhere!

I am definitely fond of the jersey dress you posted. For under $20, I think I can break my "no shopping" rule just this once!

I like both those bags. The Melie Bianco Fringe bag is so soft and lightweight, and the raw edge convertible clutch has been a favorite.

That Melie Bianco Fringe Bag is fabulous!
