I’ve never worn much jewelry. When I was younger I collected Swatch watches and wore those three to four at a time. I grew out of the bold colored watch phase and began wearing big earrings made of crazy materials in crazy shapes. After I chopped my hair off while studying abroad in Italy I replaced big earrings with subtle studs. I usually pair a diamond studs with a silver pendant with my initials engraved on it.
My pendant is small, flat and round. It garners a lot of attention because it is simple, but with unique scripture. In almost every picture I take I am donning this necklace my late grandmother had made for me. It is a special piece of jewelry I am privileged to wear, yet lately I’ve been trying to expand my jewelry horizons.
Jessica Hicks is the proprietor of Nantucket’s Posh Boutique. After studying at the Worcester Center for Crafts as well as University of Massachusetts, Hicks opened her own boutique after finding success selling her jewelry pieces independently.
Though her boutique is small and far from fashion hubs like Los Angeles and New York City, Hicks designs are frequently featured in magazines like US Weekly, Lucky, and In Style.
After perusing Hick’s website I realized I only have one ring and should probably buy myself another before I receive one from my Prince Charming (who seems to be lost considering I haven’t seen him ever). Her Large Opal ring is one of the many pieces I have an eye on. The ring, set in gold, would highlight the gold in the Paisley necklace.
Though Hick’s boutique is to showcase her designs she does carry a few other labels, like handbag designer, Tucker Paisley. The Julia bag would coordinate so well with Hick’s Paisley necklace.
And now just to find a cute clutch to match the opal ring. . .
