By The Devil Wears Marc Jacobs
As soon as Spring hits, I get the Summer itch, as soon as Summer hits I get the Fall itch, and so on and so forth with each passing season. I really look forward to dressing for each season, coats and cashmere during colder months, easy breezy tunics and stylish shorts during warmer days! So its no wonder I was secretly coveting Calleen Cordero's new accessory collection, as it very much reminded me of the next stylish season to come! Calleen hits the nail on the head with her brilliant take on the much lauded trend: studs on leather. Her collection is a stellar hybrid between modern gypsy woman and bad-ass moto chick (a la Angelina Jolie in Wanted).
Her leathers are crafted beautifully and will remain a staple in your closet during all seasons for years to come! I was instantly drawn to her shoes (what girl isn't?). After months of searching for the perfect short moto boot, I think I found it. The Moto Motorcycle boot black Vol is sexy and tough, I can run around the city in these boots, yet be totally comfortable. Dressed up or down these boots are statement making shoes all on their own!
Another shoe, I found myself reaching toward my wallet for, was the Trono High Heel Black Deep But wait...gasp...they are clogs!!! They are kinda awesome, I saw one of the Olson's rocking the clogs, yet they were no near as chic or fabulous as these (note to self, never ever wear low heeled clogs unless its Halloween). Plus these suckers will add some serious inches to my not so model-esque mile long legs!
Speaking about models, didn't I see Hanne-Gaby Odiele working the low slung hip saddle bag in Paris for Couture Week off the runway? What say you, never heard of the hip saddle? Well it most definitely is not your grandmother's, Disney world toting fanny pack! This Gavras Clutch brown JS is a sleek, hands-free option, and totally rocks. Remember Carrie Bradshaw in her Gucci one, circa 2002--so fab!
For the fashion timid, there are more user friendly options to toughen up one's fall look. Take for instance light hardware for the wrist and waist. But beware these may suck you over to the dark side, and you may never wear plain jane accessories again!
