Flirty, flouncy sundresses are a classic summer wardrobe must-have that will never go out of style because they’re constantly being updated to suit the season. Bustier structured boning, tiered skirts, tribal prints, and more — you can never get tired of a look that allows you to breathe and move on a hot summer day yet maintain you sense of fashionable femininity! Of course, not all sundresses are created equal, though. Depending on your body type, some are just plain shapeless in their attempt to be loose and swingy — and what’s the fun of wearing a dress if you can’t even flaunt your figure? That’s why I’m loving the belted sundress trend — it juxtaposes the free floatiness that we love about sundresses with the more flattering structure of the belt while emphasizing your slimmest area: your waist. The result is a look that’s still perfectly comfortable and summery, just in a way that shows you off in the process!
I love the look of this floral flutter-sleeve dress from ModCloth, which has a vintage flair without looking dated, while the leather and hardware of the Midnight on the Meadow dress gives it a little added edge. For a more casual look that’s still totally chic, I adore the rope belt on this buttoned Steven Alan Bungalo dress, while the black-and-white color palette on this ruffled L’Agence crepe dress is understated yet pretty!
