I've always had a thing for ALDO. They have a great selection, are affordable and always on trend. This time around they are "pairing" up with Julian Louie and have created crazy, editorial worthy, suede patterned wedges. The colors are insane! I want about three of them. Is is wrong to want three pairs of different color shoes- even though they are all the same style?
Personally I am loving the ankle fit. Which pair has your name all over it?
TheFind’s editors had the opportunity to view the Ports 1961 Spring 2011 Runway Collection inside the new and luxuriously appointed venue at Lincoln Center. Most recently in July of this year, long time creative director Tia Cibani stepped down, to leave older sister Fiona Cibani in charge as head designer. The Spring 2011 collection was Fiona’s first. And she made a fine effort front and center, emerging from behind the scenes as the label’s former brand director. Ports 1961 is truly a global brand originating in Canada in 1961 and migrating to Xiamen, China in 1993.
The collection was flowing and pretty, inspired by a recent trip to Tunisia. Obvious was a palette of desert sand and skies. “The sky was so blue and the sand was so gold, I wanted to create an urban interpretation of someone who’s dreaming of the desert, “ Cibiani told Style.com. Bronze, ivory, gray, and iridescents were accented with jewel toned hues of amethyst, emerald and sapphire. Loosely fitted, but elegant sheaths looked had a greco-roman air about them. The belted sheaths are much more wearable and most likely to appeal to the modern urban woman as an option for a pretty daytime look, for after work cocktails or a formal wedding. Standout pieces that caught our eye include silk bronze flowing off-the-shoulder top with purple shorts, flowing silk tunic embellished with crystal stones, a belted trench over taupe leggings, a blue asymmetrical off the shoulder sheath draped in blue sapphire silk.

There are a plethora of ways to incorporate fall's favorite animal print into one's wardrobe. Leopard is being spotted everywhere, from knickers to knickknacks this print is all the rage. This caveman-esque print is running wild and was found splashed all over the runways during NYFW.

You just need a hint of this print to make a statement, throw on a cross body (Botkier, Leopard Maddie shoulder bag, $345), a pair of so chic, walk-everywhere booties (Joe's Jeans Nadege Beatle flat booties, $180), or a super glammed up bib necklace (ROARKE New York, Le Charlot Beaded leopard necklace, $425), not all at the same time though! Either way, you will definitely stand out in a crowd rocking this enviable pattern.

I’ve mentioned my newfound love for Sephora Collection makeup brushes before, and I have to say, they’ve struck again in the realm of beauty tools! I’m totally loving this mini travel brush set, not only because it’s compact (read: travel-friendly!) and affordable, but because it’s gorgeous to boot! After all, when the product is something boringly functional like makeup brushes, it definitely helps to make them fun and pretty to serve as a more festive addition to my makeup collection. Plus, it’s a little extra incentive to take good care of them!
This particular set comes with either purple or blue-dipped brushes with a matching case, and contains a foundation brush, powder/blush brush, and a shadow brush — basically anything you’d need for an emergency touch-up on the go! While the brushes may be downgraded in size for easier portability, they’re mighty and definitely don’t sacrifice quality for convenient transportation. The bristles, aside from being colorful, are super soft and perfect for face and eye makeup application on the go! And at $18 for a $50 value, I’d take these pretty Sephora brushes over a wallet-burning set from MAC any day!
During the tedious chore of packing for a recent weekend getaway, I came to a sudden realization. Aside from the fact that I need more shoes (always), I also need more fabulous luggage. I don’t necessarily require an entire milieu of designer suitcases of every shape and size, but I could definitely use at least one go-to piece for short trips and sleepovers. I mean, let’s face it — my old high school gym bag just isn’t cutting it (seriously, that’s what I use). Plus, the whole charade of packing and unpacking, not to mention hauling said luggage to and from my vacay destination would be infinitely more enjoyable if I had a chic designer bag. Enter the latest object of my insatiable label lust: the Alexander Wang Daphne Duffel.
Naturally, Alexander Wang is known for taking practical, streamlined pieces and giving them an edgy spin, and this duffel is no exception. I love how the embossed leather gives it a subtle sheen while the button studs add some interest without making it look too hardware heavy. This is a bag you can take anywhere and look expensive (well, it is) without looking too showy. The only problem is that I’d probably be too protective of it to check it at the airport!

Last year I was not able to attend NYFW. This year I will be there, and of course I also happen to get invited to one of my favorite fashion events in the Bay Area on the exact same weekend! Doesn't it always happen that way? You are pining for one invite, and all of a sudden you've got way too many!
But just because I'm not going doesn't mean I won't let you all in on the secret...Santana Row's Fall Fashion in the Park is back the weekend of September 10, 2010! This is a great event, fashion follower or not. The ticket price includes a seat to their infamous fashion show- showcasing all the great upcoming trends to watch out for for fall- obvi, a hosted wine and hors d’oeuvres reception pre show, a shopping boutique, and a post show soiree. That's a lot of stuff for the price of one ticket, not to mention a portion of the proceeds from ticket sales will benefit four South Bay non-profit organizations!
So grab your girlfriends, or your reluctant boyfriend, and make a date out of it. This is one event not to be missed!
